Written by Ukrainian playwright Neda Nezhdana, "OTVETKA@UA" was produced in collaboration with ProEnglish Theatre, after the outbreak of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Featuring Veronika Streltsova, the piece was directed over Zoom for the second iteration of ProEnglish's War Ukraine Texts series and later performed as part of ProAct Festival at the Les Kurbas Centre.
What do you do when you are invited to be a maid of honour in the country on the other side of the front? When your "brother" is Cain and you were born Abel, how do you stop loving him? How do you get rid of anger, despair and fear and find the strength to keep on living after the death of your loved ones?
