The Open Book Project
Transit Productions
Inspired by the content and context of the banned Hungarian children's book "A Fairytale For Everyone", James acts as writer and dramaturg on Transit Productions' devised performance directed by Rebeka Dio. The piece will be develped at the Psychedelight Residency in France in May 2026.
Dad
Written as part of MA Dramaturgy & Writing for Performance at Goldsmiths, "Dad" is a prophetic one-person play about the price we pay to raise a child as our true selves. Spotlighting parenthood as a non-binary person, this play as received a rehearsed reading at Soho Theatre with an upcoming showcase at Omnibus Theatre as part of 96 Festival in June 2026.


The Kafka Project
Developed with director Vero Streltsolva in Kyiv, Ukraine, this radical adaptation of "The Trial" by Franz Kafka reframes K as a queer icon in the making, showcasing how bureaucratic systems erase trans and non-binary people from society. Utilising a durational development
