"Any moment on Earth a missile could hit us and there is nothing we can do about it."

Written by Nina Zakhozhenko from Lviv, Ukraine after the outbreak of Russia's illegal invasion, "Red Lipstick", originally titled "Tonya, Asya and a Plane" in Ukrainian, takes a peek into the lives of two sisters sheltering in a metro station while their city is relentlessly attacked. Faced with constant danger and debilitating isolation, this short play questions how ordinary people deal with life after war inexplicably arrives at their doorstep. This production was a collaboration between ProEnglish Theatre from Kyiv, Ukraine and the Plain English Theatre Company from Melbourne, Australia, through the efforts of the W.E.S.T. Association.
